3-Year Digital Literacy Program for the Visually Impaired
In partnership with The Hong Kong Polytechnic University’s Jockey Club Design Institute for Social Innovation and the Knowledge Transfer and Entrepreneurship Office, Seekr is launching the first-ever digital literacy program specifically designed for visually impaired individuals. This initiative aims to empower over 2,700 + beneficiaries, including visually impaired persons, elderly individuals, and their caregivers across various partner institutions in Hong Kong.
Our Mission
In today’s digital age, access to technology is essential for effective communication, education, and daily living. Unfortunately, those with visual impairments often face significant barriers in this area. Our mission is to break down these barriers and promote inclusivity through comprehensive digital literacy training.
Program Highlights
- Curriculum Development: Tailored training modules will cover essential skills such as using smartphones, navigating websites, and accessing online services.
- Hands-On Training: Participants will engage in interactive workshops led by trained instructors who specialize in working with visually impaired individuals.
- Resource Accessibility: We will provide assistive technologies and materials to ensure all participants can fully engage with the program.
- Support Network: Caregivers and family members will be included in training sessions, fostering a supportive environment for learning and growth.
Impact
Through this partnership, we pledge to:
- Increase digital literacy among visually impaired individuals, elderly and caregivers.
- Enhance independence and improve quality of life for our beneficiaries.
